Photos that fill your calendar: how to shoot your boat and trips
2026-10-10 · 3 min read
You do not need a camera. You need good light and a plan.
Shoot in the morning or late afternoon
Soft, low sun makes water and boats look their best. Midday sun is harsh and flat.
Clean the boat first
Wipe the seats, coil the ropes and clear the deck. Guests notice the small things.
Take these shots
- The whole boat from the water, side-on
- The deck and the seating
- The captain, smiling, at the helm
- Guests fishing, snorkelling or enjoying the view (with permission)
- A close-up of the catch, the reef or the sunset
Keep the horizon level
A tilted horizon makes photos feel careless. Use your phone's grid lines.
Think about the crop
Package photos are shown in a wide frame. Leave some space around the main subject, and use the crop tool to place the best part of the picture inside the frame.
Put the best one first
The first photo is the one guests see on the list and on the map. Make it your best.
You can add up to 10 photos to each package. Refresh them every season.
