QR tickets at the jetty: faster boarding for ferries and charters

2026-10-17 · 4 min read

Boarding is where small delays add up. A QR code makes it quick, and it makes mistakes harder.

What the passenger gets

When you book a seat, the passenger gets a link by SMS. It opens their ticket with a QR code. Charter guests get a receipt picture with a QR code after their payment is confirmed.

What you do at the jetty

Open the scanner from your phone. Point the camera at the code. In a second you see the name, the trip, and whether they have paid.

  • Green: paid, safe to board. Tap Mark boarded.
  • Amber: payment is due. Collect it, or let the passenger pay, then board them.
  • Red: the trip is cancelled, finished, or the ticket is for another day.

Wrong day or wrong trip

If a ticket is for another day and there is a seat today, you can move it to the trip you are boarding.

No QR, no problem

Type the booking reference or the name. You can also scan from a photo if the camera does not work in bright sun.

Why it is worth it

You always know how many are on board, you know who still owes you, and the passenger list is already correct when the boat leaves.

Scanning is available to owners and managers on plans that include e-tickets.
